Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
March 2, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm AEST
Expectations regarding appropriate behaviour in the modern workplace continue to increase. Resource industry employers have diverse workforces – different sexes, races and ages are all prominent. In order to reduce the risk of sexual harassment, discrimination or bullying complaints, organisations now require employees to complete EEO
training.
This ensures employees have the knowledge required to understand what inappropriate workplace behaviours are, and how to avoid them. Workplace Harassment is a significant issue in many workplaces. Preventing harassment in
the workplace is a skill all employees need to establish to maintain a productive quality of work and stress free environment.
As a manager, supervisor or individual, your role is to ensure your behaviour reflects the standards required by your organisation. No one can afford not to take harassment at work seriously.
In your EEO training you will learn what constitutes unlawful harassment and what is not considered unlawful harassment. EEO training will also specify who may be affected by harassment and how they may be affected.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify who may be affected by harassment and how they may be affected
- Recognise behaviour that constitutes discrimination, harassment and bullying
- Identify the levels of responsibility and liability for these behaviours occurring
