Australian Resources and Energy Group AREEA is proud to celebrate the individuals and companies who have risen above and beyond the challenges of 2020.
Across four categories covering key workforce-related areas of the industry, the AREEA Industry Awards celebrate leadership, innovation, diversity and excellence in the sector.
Despite being prevented from holding the physical awards
ceremony at the annual Gala Dinner, AREEA is continuing the tradition of shining a light on ‘people related’ excellence within the industry.
Announced and celebrated through an innovative online campaign, complete with full-length podcasts, live video reactions and in-depth stories, two winners of the 2020 AREEA Industry Awards have already been announced, with another two in coming weeks.

Workforce and Workplace Relations Innovation – New Hope Group 
New Hope Group was recognised for its creative and strategic efforts in delivering innovative, productive and engaged outcomes for its people and teams.
The company has innovated the way mine closures are managed through its ‘Finishing Well’ program at Jeebropilly Mine.

Mental Health & Wellbeing – Northern Star Resources
Northern Star Resources was crowned for implementing a leading health, safety and/or wellbeing initiative that has made a positive impact on its workplaces and employees.
The company has risen to the challenge of contemporising mental health, with a focus on acting proactively and prioritising sustainable long-term outcomes.
